How are you implementing the Technology Course of Study in your school district?

Right now, we have left it up to the principals in the individual schools to track the COS and how teachers are covering all the standards. But I'm not so sure it's being done right. I'm working with our tech coordinator to see how we can manage this better. (All ideas are welcome!)

Vickey, I like your lesson plan web page. I've thought of doing something like this with the lesson plans our teacher have submitted as part of the requirements for our online classes. I really like the way you explain the requirements of the COS and why we must implement the COS.

Here's a link to our website where we post all lesson plans for our teachers to use for the technology course of study. http://www.madison.k12.al.us/tecos. Notice the "documentation" page at the top of each page that the teachers must use to document the date they taught the objective and note the lesson plan they used. If they use their own lesson plan, we ask them to print it out and attach it to this form, which they turn in to me at the end of each school year, so that we can add those lessons to the database. We also use lots of lesson plans from ALEX (http://www.alex.state.al.us)
